This is not just about us—this is about you. It’s about your relationships and your rest. It’s an opportunity to disconnect from the major stressors in life and fill that space with laughter and food and beautiful things. We don’t want to be rushing from table to table, moment to moment. We want to be in one relaxing, continuous moment together that connects the people who have helped shape our relationship and our lives.
With whom shall the ghosts be sleeping?
Well, to our knowledge there are no ghosts… but the Estate is over 100yrs old! Next week we will be posting the Accommodations page. Rooms will be assigned prior to arrival and you can indicate your preference. Please understand -your selected room will be noted but is not a reservation and is not guaranteed.
With what whimsy shall we fill our days?
There are so many things! The Activities page will be available next month, but the short list includes walks, hikes, falconry, archry, horseback riding, golf, massages and more!
Will there be food and drink?
So much food! Have you met us?!? We’ll share two delicious meals a day together as a community, as well as snacks and tea service midday. The costs are included with your reservation.
Alcohol, except for specific events, is not included and billed to the guest – the bar is available all day.
Can I bring along a guest?
Sadly, no. The number of guests is strictly limited by the licenses that Dunskey Estate maintains with the government. There is no practical or affordable way to add additional guests.
What about my kids?
You know how much we love them, so bring them if you want! Kids 12yrs old and younger are free. For kids 13yrs – 16yrs costs are greatly reduced. Or, if this is a good time for them to visit Grandma and Grandpa, then that works too.
Younger kids will eat before the adults in the farm kitchen so parents can enjoy an adult dinner. There will be nanny service available for around $20hr and that cost can be split between families. So staying up late and sleeping in is totally possible even WITH kids!
Is there a dress code?
It’s not fancy, but as the Scots might say, think “McFahnsay”. For he/hims, polos and button-downs are an easy choice. On the wedding day, jackets and ties are requested, and suits are strongly preferred. For she/hers, we trust you to take your cues from the he/him recommendations. Breakfast meals will be a bit more on the casual side while dinners will be “nicer”.
On the shoe front, flip-flops are discouraged due to the ruggedness of the terrain. Stiletto heels are prohibited on the estate at all times – if you do plan to wear heels we suggest investing in heel protectors so you don’t sink into the grass or leave marks on the wood floors!
