TRAVEL OVERVIEW

By Plane

Glasgow (GLA) is the closest airport to Portpatrick and Dunskey Estate but does not offer nonstop flights from US. Edinburgh (EDI) is another close option and does offer a limited number of nonstop flights from US. Dublin (DUB) is the most accessible airport from the US; other airports in the UK will require significant additional travel by train, ferry, or automobile.

By Train

Stranraer or Dumfries are the closest train terminals. If traveling from the north (i.e. Glasgow, Edinburgh, etc.), schedule a train to Stranraer. Dumfries will be the destination for those traveling from the south or east. Cairnryan is the ferry terminal for those traveling from Ireland in the west

By Boat

Cairnryan is the ferry terminal for those traveling from Ireland in the west. This is a great option if you want to fly into Belfast or even Dublin.

By Automobile

Shuttles from GLA and the train stations will be arranged after travel plans are finalized. Car rentals can be booked through any travel site, but will not be necessary during your stay in Portpatrick or at Dunskey Estate.
